Illinois Holding State Flag Redesign Contest

Illinois is holding a state flag redesign contest. Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias announced that the Illinois Flag Commission will begin accepting public submissions for a new state flag design beginning next Tuesday. The commission will accept design ideas until October 18th. Afterwards, the Illinois General Assembly will vote on whether to adopt a new flag or keep the current flag design.
