Illinois House Advances Bill To Make Limited Drug Possession Misdemeanor

The Illinois House is moving forward with a bill that would make limited possession of drugs a misdemeanor. The measure would make possession of up to three grams of heroin and fentanyl and five grams of cocaine a misdemeanor instead of a felony. The Illinois ACLU and other advocates say the bill eliminates a roadblock to recovery for addicts.
