Illinois House Democrats Proposing Speaker Term Limits, Remote Meetings

Illinois House Democrats are proposing a ten-year term limit for the Speaker and minority leader. Democrats also proposed rules that would be voted on in-person today that would allow House committees to meet remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many Republicans oppose the rule changes. The state Senate already allows remote committee meetings through Zoom.
