Illinois House Passes Bill That Divests In Russia

The Illinois House is advancing legislation that would hold Russia accountable for the ongoing war in Ukraine.  The House yesterday approved a bill that calls for Illinois to divest from Russian stocks and sovereign debt. That includes funds in the Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System.  The measure would also create a new task force to investigate Russian money laundering within real estate sectors in Illinois.
