Illinois Lawmakers Still Gathering Info On Elected Chicago School Board

Illinois lawmakers are still gathering information on how to implement an elected school board in Chicago.  A Senate committee held a final public hearing yesterday on the logistics of the board.  There is a July 1st deadline to draw boundaries for the Chicago Public Schools’ school board districts in preparation for a partially elected board in 2025.  A fully-elected board launches in 2027.
