Illinois Leaders Taking A Stand Against Russia’s Putin

Illinois Governor J.B. Pristzker says Russian President Vladimir Putin must be stopped. In a joint statement with Senate President Don Harmon and House Speaker Chris Welch, Pritzker echoed the sentiment of countless other U.S. leaders, condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine. In that statement late last week, Pritzker committed to advancing legislation “to remove any Russian companies from Illinois’ pension assets and prohibit contracting with any companies based in Russia.” The governor said until there is peace in Eastern Europe again, Illinois will “support the brave men and women of Ukraine in defending their country.”
