Illinois Opens Opioid Alternative Pilot Program

People in Illinois can finally swap their opioid pain pill prescriptions for medical marijuana. The Illinois Department of Public Health last week announced that the Opioid Alternative Pilot Program is finally open. The idea is to let people get medical marijuana instead of opioids. Your doctor has to agree to the swap, and there’s a registration process, and swapped prescriptions are only valid for 90 days.
