Illinois Prioritizing 1st Dose of Monkeypox Virus Vaccines for Those at High Risk

Illinois is prioritizing the first dose of the monkeypox vaccine for eligible people.  This is due to a limited supply of the vaccine.  The state health department is advising local public health officials that unless people are in certain elevated risk categories, they should receive only an initial dose of the vaccine until more supplies become available.  Illinois is currently reporting 401 monkeypox cases, with 85-percent of them in Chicago.
