Illinois Racing Board Could Prevent Arlington International Racecourse From Having Racing In 2020

The Illinois Racing Board is threatening to shut down the Arlington International Racecourse. They could deny racing dates for 2020 if Churchill Downs doesn’t demonstrate a commitment to racing within a week. The board met yesterday and designated a three-member committee to hear any proposals Churchill may have. This comes after the racing giant didn’t apply for a gaming license at Arlington under a new state law.
