Illinois Republican Lawmakers Want Answers About Unemployment Fraud

Some Republicans at the Illinois Capitol are demanding answers about fraud in the state’s unemployment system. State Rep. Tom Bennett says he’s getting calls daily either from people who don’t have any answers about their unemployment claim, or who say someone else has taken their benefits. Bennett says Illinois is looking at at least 200-thousand fraud claims since March.
