Illinois Resident Sentenced To Prison In Jan. 6 Capitol Riot

Another Illinois resident will spend time behind bars for taking part in the January 6th Capitol riot in 2021. Athanasios Zoyganeles of Chicago was sentenced to ten days in prison and nine months of probation. He pleaded guilty last year to misdemeanor parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building. Prosecutors say he bragged on social media that he had “rushed the Capitol.”
