Democrats at the Illinois Capitol say they don’t want to wait any longer to give some workers in the state a raise.  The Illinois Senate yesterday approved a 15-dollar-an-hour minimum wage.  The plan’s author, state Senator Kimberly Lightford, said it shouldn’t have taken so long to agree on a plan.  Business groups say the higher minimum wage will kill jobs.  Governor Pritzker says he supports the idea.  The Illinois House will vote on the idea next.
