Illinois Senate Panel Votes To End SAT, ACT Requirement

High schoolers looking to get into one of Illinois’ public universities may soon no longer have to take the SAT or the ACT. The full Illinois Senate is set to vote on a plan that would end the testing requirement for the state’s schools. Lawmakers say colleges and universities would instead take a look at students’ grades and high school history to determine who gets in.
