Update: Illinois State Police Investigating Fatal Crash That Injured Two Individuals

The Will County Coroner reporting the death of 55-year old Laura Schmersahl of Bourbonnais following an accident in Manhattan Township on Monday. The crash happened on Monday, September 23rd, at 9:56 a.m, that sent the drivers of both vehicles to the hospital. The crash occurred at U.S. Route 52 and Offner Road. According to Illinois State Police a Toyota Camry was traveling on W. Offner Road approaching the stop sign at US Route 52 while the Ford Focus was traveling northbound on US Route 52. The Toyota turned onto US Route 52 in front of the Ford and was T-boned in the intersection. The drivers of both the Ford and the Toyota sustained serious injuries and were transported to Silver Cross Hospital where Schmersahl later died. Illinois State Police are still investigating the accident.
