Illinois is set to reinvest in communities through money from legalized recreational marijuana. The legislation includes a program to revitalize poverty-ridden communities plagued by gun violence and the war on drugs. The new law also clears previous small-time marijuana convictions. Governor J.B. Pritzker called the measure signed yesterday the most equity-centric law involving marijuana in the entire country.
