Illinois’ Top Health Official Stepping Down

Illinois‘ top health official is stepping down.  Doctor Ngozi Ezike is leaving her post as Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health after three years of service.  Her last day will be March 14th.  Ezike helped guide the state’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak.  The current Assistant Director of IDPH, Amaal Tokars, will serve as interim director while a nationwide search is conducted to find a permanent replacement.
