Increased Police Presence at Plainfield Central High School Today

An unsubstantiated school threat against Plainfield Central High School will see more police presence. A letter sent out last night to parents.

Dear Plainfield School District 202 Community,

We want to address the recent concerns regarding an unsubstantiated threat circulating on social media about Plainfield Central High School. The Plainfield Police Department is actively investigating the origin of this social media message and is working closely with school officials.   At this time, there is no credible evidence to support this threat, and no other Plainfield schools have been mentioned in these posts.

The District takes all threats towards our schools and students very seriously.  To ensure the continued safety of our students, there will be an increased police presence at Plainfield Central High School overnight and during arrival times tomorrow. Our dedicated officers and school officials will be vigilant in monitoring and maintaining a secure environment.

Please reassure your children that the situation is being handled with the utmost care and that their safety is our top priority. At home, you can help by discussing the importance of staying informed through official channels and avoiding the spread of unverified information. Emphasize the importance of reporting any concerns or suspicious activity they may encounter.

Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Glenn Wood
