The Fire are officially back at Soldier Field. Mayor Lightfoot, team owner Joe Mansueto and MLS Commissioner Don Garber were in attendance this morning for the announcement at the lakefront stadium. The move was not a secret after the Fire organization took out a full page ad in today’s Sun Times about the team’s shift. October 8th is a historic date, because the soccer team was founded in 1997 and the Great Chicago Fire took place in 1871.
