Jefferson Street closing at rail crossing beginning Aug. 8

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that the railroad crossing on Jefferson Street, east of County Line Road, in Shorewood, will require a full closure beginning Monday, August 8th. A detour will direct motorists to County Line Road, Theodore Road and Route 59. Truck traffic will be detoured to Bridge Street, Illinois 71, Schoolhouse Road/Lockport Street, and Illinois 59.

The work is expected to be complete by 7 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 14.
