Joliet Announces Garbage Collection Cancellation Due to Cold

Waste Management will not be picking up garbage or recycling on Wednesday, Jan. 30 or Thursday, Jan. 31 due to landfill closures caused by extreme low temperatures. All residents whose normal garbage day is Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, please put out your garbage only on Friday morning before 6 a.m. (or Thursday night if possible). Do not put out recycling toters or white goods this week. If your garbage is not picked up on Friday, Waste Management will recover it on Saturday. If you have any questions, please contact Waste Management at 815-280-7854.
Again, residents whose normal pickup day is Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, please put out garbage toters only on Friday. Recycling pickup will start up again next week.
