Joliet City Council Budget Vote Rescheduled

Joliet City Council failed to approve a budget Tuesday night. Councilwoman Bettye Gavin was not present. The vote was split 4-4 and thus will be rescheduled. The budget needs to be passed before the end of the year, in order to set the tax levy for 2020. A special meeting will be held on Thursday, December 26th.

An increase in the hotel and gas tax are among the sticking points.
