The Joliet City Council is expected to vote tonight on a settlement for former Corporation Counsel and Interim City Manager Marty Shanahan.

Shanahan filed a lawsuit against the city in November after the city council voted against a wrongful termination payout for Shanahan worth $123,000. He was fired last May by then interim City Manager Steve Jones. The current settlement would give Shanahan more money, $200,000 and not allow him to work for the city of Joliet for two years.

The Joliet City Council is expected to vote on the settlement tonight in open session.
