Joliet Fire Department Assist One Resident Out of a Burning Home On Friday

At 7:42 on March 17th, Joliet Fire Department responded to 1311 Demmond St. for reports of a structure fire.

The first units arrived to find light smoke coming from a single-family dwelling. The first in company found smoke down to the floor inside the structure and located the fire in a first floor bedroom. One resident was assisted out of the structure. All other residents were determined to be out of the structure. The fire was extinguished by the first in fire company while other crews performed water supply, search, ventilation, salvage, overhaul, safety and support functions.

Fire crews from stations 1, 4, 5, and 6 responded to the scene. There were no injuries to report. The fire was determined to be accidental.
