Joliet Man Accused of Holding Gun to Woman’s Head

A 35-year-old Joliet man was arrested over the weekend after allegedly striking his ex-girlfriend and then holding a loaded gun to her head. Stephen Edwards was involved in an argument with his ex-girlfriend on Saturday night, shortly before midnight, when the argument became violent and he struck her in the head. The victim then alleged that Edwards went into a separate room and came back with a loaded handgun, putting it to her head and threatening to shoot her. The victim was eventually able to escape and dial 911. Edwards was taken into custody and has been charged with aggravated domestic battery.
