Joliet Man Arrested For Shooting Gun Inside Hotel
Kywaun Beatty (23, Joliet) was arrested, processed, and transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm.
On September 23, 2024, at 1:38 a.m., Officers responded to the Main Stay Suites (135 South Larkin Avenue) for a report of someone that had fired a gun inside of the hotel. Upon arrival, Officers learned that Beatty had fired two rounds into the door of a guest room that was occupied by his 23-year-old ex-girlfriend and her 26-year-old sister, after banging on the room’s door. No injuries were reported, and Officers recovered two spent shell casings from the hallway outside of the room.
A description of Beatty was broadcast to other Officers in the area. A short time later, Officer located Beatty near McDonough Street and Notre Dame Avenue and he was placed into custody without incident. Officers recovered a loaded handgun following a search of Beatty.
