Joliet Man Dies Shortly After Vehicle Crash and Stabbing
The Joliet Police Department is investigating a Homicide that was initially investigated as a crash by Rockdale Police Department. It was on Saturday, May 18th just after 1:00 p.m. that Joliet Police were notified by Rockdale Police of a crash in the 1500 block of Mound Drive. One of the vehicle’s occupents was a 43-year-old man, Edward Summers of Joliet.
Summers was transported to the hospital where it was discovered the victim had been stabbed. The victim later succumbed to his injuries. Officers were able to determine that the victim was involved in a domestic dispute in the 1100 block of Parkwood Drive sometime prior to the crash. A female was questioned by Detectives in reference to the incident.
This is an ongoing investigation and is still in its early stages. The Joliet Police Department is currently looking for assistance from the public.
