Joliet Man Takes Responsibility For Bolingbrook Fatal Hit And Run

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for November 14th in the hit and run crash of an Orland Park woman in Bolingbrook. Joliet resident Eduardo Avila pled guilty to one count of failure to report an accident involving serious injury or death. The sentencing hearing is about 2 years after the death of Tricia Hoyt. She was had been walking along a frontage road late at night after leaving a party in Bolingbrook when she was struck by Avila’s car. Her body was found Sunday. She had been dead for hours. Avila who was 19-years-old at the time of the fatal crash was arrested several days later. He could be sentenced to probation or anywhere from 4 to 15 years in prison.
