Joliet Murder Victim Identified

The Will County Coroner has identified 19 year old Marcello Dilworth of Joliet as the victim of a shooting that took place in the early morning hours of July 27th, 2019.

It was just before 1 am on July 27th, that Joliet Police responded to a shots fired call in the 100 block of Hobbs. Police found a 19 year old male on the porch with multiple gunshot wounds. The Joliet Fire Department arrived on the scene, however, the victim died on location from his injuries.

An investigation is underway and the Joliet Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance. They are asking for any video surveillance that contains suspicious activity between the hours of 12:30 am and 1:00 am on July 27th, 2019. The area of focus is east of Miller Avenue to Akin Avenue and between E. Washington St. to Second Avenue.
