Joliet Police have announced the arrest of two individuals for their alleged roll in a shooting on Wednesday night. It was at 9:31 p.m. that officers were called to area of Hunter Avenue and Allen Street in reference to a call of shots fired. Upon arrival officers approached several individuals near a vehicle in the 400 block of Hunter. As officers approached the vehicle, two suspects took off running. After a short foot pursuit both subjects were taken into custody in a nearby backyard. A discarded firearm was located near both subjects. The recovered firearm had been reported stolen. The two suspects are 26-year-old Omar Galan of Joliet and a 17-year-old juvenile male. Galan was taken to the Will County ADF while the juvenile was transported to the River Valley Juvenile Detention Center. The two men have been charged with Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, No FOID Card, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Obstructing a Peace Officer.
