Joliet Police Investigating Body Found in the Street

The Joliet Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred near the intersection of California Avenue and Rosalind Street early Thursday morning. It at approximately 5:07am, Officers responded to the area of California Avenue and Rosalind Street in reference to a person laying on the ground. Officers located a female victim deceased with trauma to the body. Officers are working on identifying the victim. Once the victim is identified, the Will County Coroner’s Office will notify the next of kin and determine the cause of death.
This is an ongoing investigation and is still in its early stages. The Joliet Police is actively looking into what occurred and will update the public at a later date when it has more information.
