Joliet Police Quickly Arrest Suspect Following Shooting On Joliet’s East Side

Joliet Police investigating a shooting in the one-thousand block of East Washington Street. Police were dispatched at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday for a report of two victims that had been shot. Sgt. Dwayne English tells WJOL that upon arrival, Officers located two shooting victims on the scene. Officers noted that one victim, a male, had been shot in the abdomen and the other victim, a female, suffered a graze wound to the arm.

The male victim was transported to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department where he remains. His condition is unknown. The female victim refused medical assistance at the scene. Joliet police Detectives were quickly able to develop suspect information. One person was taken into custody for the shooting.
