Joliet Police Share Details Regarding Parking Lot Homicide

The Joliet Police Department is sharing details regarding a homicide that occurred in the city late last month. It was at 10:03 p.m. on April 30th in the parking lot of a Denny’s Restaurant, 2531 Plainfield Road in Joliet, that Joliet Police were called in reference to an unresponsive individual in the parking lot. Upon arrival officers located 36-year Gregory G. Brown of Crest Hill, laying in the parking lot having been shot. Joliet Fire Department responded and attempted to revive Brown, but unfortunately Brown had already succumbed to his injuries.

Joliet Police Detectives were able to view surveillance video from within the Denny’s Restaurant that showed a female speaking with the victim prior to the Homicide. Joliet Police were able to confirm the identity of the female as Bobbie J. Ollom from Seneca. Through the investigation, Detectives were able to determine that Ollom’s boyfriend, Joshua T. Anderson, and Christopher C. Parker lured Brown into Ollom’s vehicle with the intent of robbing Brown. During the course of the robbery, Brown was shot in the head inside of Ollom’s vehicle. Brown was then pulled out of the vehicle and left in the parking lot. Ollom, Anderson, and Parker then left the area and dropped off Ollom’s vehicle in Chicago. Ollom and Anderson were able to get another vehicle and eventually headed west towards Iowa.

Detectives were able to determine that Ollom and Anderson might be staying at a relative of Ollom’s house in West Burlington, Iowa. Detectives informed the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office of the possible location of both Ollom and Anderson. Through their help, both Ollom and Anderson were taken into custody on May 3rd on a traffic stop. Detectives drove out to Burlington, Iowa and spoke to both Ollom and Anderson. The Joliet Police Detectives were able to secure Arrest Warrants for both Ollom and Anderson and are currently being held at the Des Moines County Corrections Facility in Iowa awaiting extradition back to Illinois. Joliet Police Officers were also able to locate and secure Ollom’s vehicle in Chicago that was used in the Homicide.

Joliet Police Officers and Detectives continued searching for Parker. On May 7th, the Chicago Police Department took Parker into custody on a Joliet Police request of probable cause. Joliet Police Detectives went to Chicago and brought Parker back to the Joliet Police Station. Detectives were then able to secure an Arrest Warrant for Parker.
