Lawmakers Approve Bill Requiring Clergy To Report Cases Of Physical Abuse

State lawmakers are moving forward with a bill that would require members of the clergy in Illinois to report cases of physical abuse or neglect against children. Clergy would face possible criminal charges for failing to report such cases under a measure approved by the Illinois House Sunday.
