Lincoln Way North Building Could Be Home To New Law Enforcement Center

A new use for the shuttered Lincoln Way North high school building. In a statement from Illinois Senator Michael Hastings, a democrat from the 19th district that represents all or parts of Lockport, New Lenox and Mokena, Hastings coordinated a meeting in last month to see if there was an opportunity to relocate Illinois State Police District 5 headquarters and potentially consolidate other leased spaces into one facility at Lincoln Way North.

The property was also looked at to evaluate whether it could support a brand new state of the art forensics lab. Hastings says that ISP was “overwhelmed by the excellent condition of the building, professionalism of the staff and potential for the property.”

Currently District 5 headquarters is in Lockport along Route 53 (Broadway) at Division.
