Mayor Emanuel Rips Joe Ricketts Over Leaked Racist Emails

Mayor Emanuel is speaking out about inappropriate statements made by the patriarch of the family that owns the Cubs. TD Ameritrade founder Joe Ricketts wrote emails that included racist jokes and conspiracy theories about the birth of former President Barack Obama. The mayor said this morning that the ignorance and intolerance are not welcome in Chicago. Emanuel added that he is proud not to share Ricketts bigoted opinions. Ricketts also released a statement deeply regretting the controversial messages and apologized for some of the emails that were posted yesterday by the website SplinterNews.com.
