Metra Plans To Buy 200 Or More New Rail Cars

Metra is looking to buy at least 200 new rail cars. Commuter rail officials say they are seeking hundreds of cars that are compatible with its diesel locomotives. Currently, Metra has 848 diesel rail cars, with an average age of 30. Some of them are over 60 years old.
