Minooka Man Charged with Battery But Kidnapping Charges Dropped from Orlando Theme Park

A 23-year-old Minooka man has been charged with battery against a young girl from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. Jason Mikel has been charged with battery and cannabis possession. Mikel is accused of grabbing a 9-year-old girl in the locker storage area of the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride inside Universal Studios. The girl was scared by the encounter and screamed for her mother. Mikel ran from the scene and was apprehended a short time later in the theme park. The girls mother stated to authorities that she had lost sight of the child for only one moment. The judge in the case had thrown out the charge of kidnapping.
