A mistaken piece of equipment caused a heavy police presence near the new Houbolt Rd. Extension bridge today. Joliet Police got a call mid-morning with a report of a possible explosive device at or near GP Transco just south of Rt. 6 and east of the new bridge.
Upon arrival, the police quickly determined that it was a seismograph that is used to measure the impact of blasting. Upon discovery, the roads, which were closed for about 30 minutes, around the facility were reopened.
