Motorcycle Crash At Chicago Street and Millsdale Road

On May 18, 2024, at 6:50 p.m., Officers responded to the  intersection of South Chicago Street and Millsdale Road for a traffic crash with injuries. A  preliminary investigation of the crash determined the following: A Harley Davidson motorcycle  driven by a male (64, Hobart, IN), was southbound on South Chicago Street approaching  Millsdale Road in the outside lane. A Chevrolet Silverado truck driven by a male (44, Joliet)  attempted to initiate a left turn from eastbound Millsdale Road to northbound South Chicago  Street. The motorcyclist then struck the driver’s side of the truck. The motorcyclist was  transported to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department with serious injuries, which  were later learned to be non-life threatening. The driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured in the  crash.  

The roadway was closed for over two hours while Joliet Police Department traffic investigators  reconstructed the crash scene. No citations have been issued as this crash remains under  investigation by the Joliet Police Department Traffic Unit.
