Motorcycle Rider Hurt Following Hit-and-Run Crash in Lockport

A Lockport man is accused of causing a hit-and-run collision involving a motorcycle in Lockport. Sixty-one-year-old James Lawler has been charged with failure to yield at an intersection and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in personal injury. The crash happened just after 6:00 Wednesday morning at the corner of 9th Street and Canal Street. Lawler drove away from the scene in a Dodge Ram van while the 43-year-old driver of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle was lying on the road. The man was taken to Silver Cross Hospital in critical condition and he remains in intensive care.
