New Bill Requires Plant-Based Food For Illinois Students

Schools will have to provide students with plant-based meal options under a new state law. The legislation says that vegan and vegetable meals must be available to kids who submit a request ahead of time. The new requirement won’t take effect until the school year beginning in August of 2023.
