The number of mosquitoes that have tested positive for the West Nile Virus this year in Will County is nearing double digits. The county health department says there have been nine positive mosquito samples. The last two samples were taken from a trap in Crete on September 13th and a trap near Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet on September 16th. The West Nile Virus is passed from infected birds to humans through the bite of a Culex mosquito.
