No Damage To New Lenox Bakery Following Fire Nearby

Fleckenstein’s bakery in New Lenox is open for business and did not suffer any damage from a fire that occurred two doors down from the bakery. Just before 2 a.m. on Thursday, October 24th, the New Lenox Fire Protection District received a call for a possible structure fire in the 350 block of West Maple Street. A passerby noticed the fire and alerted a police officer who called in the fire.

Upon arrival, the NLFPD found an active fire in the overhang of the building, just outside of Fleckenstein’s Bakery. There was some damage to the building, including smoke and water in several of the units. The firefighters were on the scene for just over an hour.

The cause of fire remains under investigation at this time.
