The Joliet Slammers were the topic of conversation last night at the Joliet Council Meeting. The team has not made the first half of their $75,000 annual rent payment to the city of Joliet that was due in March. The Slammers have not played a game this year as the Frontier League is shutdown because of COVID-19.

With no revenue coming in from fans not attending games, no concession sales, no rentals and no advertising revenue, the Slammers are struggling, like a lot of other business, to pay the city, their utilities insurance and staff salaries .
