Oberweis Dairy is being bought by a Winnetka-based private equity firm. Hoffmann Family of Companies purchased the North Aurora-based company in a bankruptcy auction, outbidding the owner of Dutch Farms. Terms of the deal haven’t been released. Oberweis filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last month before announcing the closure of its North Aurora plant.
