One Sent To The Hospital Following House Fire in Joliet

It was early Saturday morning that Joliet Fire Department responded to a house fire at 216 3rd Avenue. It was just before 5 a.m., the first units arrived within four minutes of the call and were met with heavy fire coming from a two story, wood framed, residential structure.

First arriving units had fire on the first floor, second floor, and the attic of the structure. With information given by the Joliet Police Department it was determined that everyone was out of the structure.

Firefighters gave medical assistance to two residents that escaped the fire. One resident was transported to Saint Joseph’s Medical Center with minor injuries. Crews deployed multiple hose lines to attack the fire and protect nearby exposure structures. The fire was declared under control at just after 6 a.m.

There were no injuries to firefighters report. The fire is currently under investigation.
