Overnight Southbound I-55 Pavement Repairs in Will County

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that pavement patching and repairs will take place Friday, Aug. 9, weather permitting, on Interstate 55 between U.S. 30 and U.S. 52 in Will County.

In order to complete the work, southbound I-55 will be reduced to a single lane starting at 9 p.m. Friday until 9 a.m. Saturday. A detour will not be posted.

Additional overnight weekend closures will be scheduled later this summer to complete the project.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
