Pedestrian Struck On Sunday In Joliet Expected To Be Ok

On November 3, 2024, at 5:46 p.m., Joliet Police Officers responded  to the 2100 block of West Jefferson Street for a traffic crash involving a pedestrian. A  preliminary investigation of the crash determined the following: A Chevrolet Silverado driven by a male (35, Joliet) was westbound on West Jefferson Street from Hammes Avenue in the curb  lane. It is believed a male pedestrian (37, Joliet) was crossing the street in the 2100 block of  West Jefferson Street from the south and was struck by the Chevrolet. The driver of the  Chevrolet stopped and attempted to render aid to the pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported  to St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department with serious, but non-life threatening,  injuries. The driver of the Chevrolet was uninjured.  

The roadway was closed for several hours as traffic crash investigators reconstructed the scene.  This crash remains under investigation. Anyone with video footage or information regarding this  crash is encouraged to contact the Joliet Police Department Traffic Unit at (815)724-3110.
