Pilot, Passenger OK Following Midday, Single-Engine Plane Crash In Suburban Roselle

No major injuries are reported after a small plane crashed in suburban Roselle late Wednesday morning. Local officials say police and fire personnel were called to the scene near Schaumberg Regional Airport at Williams Street and Irving Park Road around 11 p.m. Two people inside the aircraft — that had taken off from Janesville, Wisconsin — reportedly were checked out by paramedics at the scene and released. Witnesses say the crash caused a major traffic backlog along Irving Park between Rodenburg and Roselle roads. Cause of the crash is under investigation.
