The Plainfield Park District has several special events planned for active adults this summer.

In addition to the daily fitness classes and other social events hosted at the Plainfield Township Community Center (PTCC), the Park District will also host a Hawaiian Luau, ice cream social, and indoor concert this summer.

  • June 26 at 12p: Hawaiian-style picnic at PTCC, 15014 S. Des Plaines St. Event includes food, entertainment and a fun line up of activities! The picnic will be held outdoors and indoors. Registration and payment deadlines are June 10. For ages 50 & up. Cost is $8 for residents, $10 for non-residents.

  • July 30 at 7p: Under the Indoor Stars – Evening Concert at PTCC. The Chorus of DuPage will perform an indoor concert. Popcorn and refreshments will be available for purchase. For all ages. Cost is $10 for residents/$12 per person/non-resident.

  • August 22 at 1p: Happy Days Ice Cream Social at PTCC. Build your own sundae then settle in for an afternoon of bingo. Registration deadline is August 15. Cost is $8 for residents and non-residents.

  • Ongoing: In addition to special events, the Park District hosts daily fitness classes at PTCC as well as monthly pot luck luncheons, bridge and mahjong/euchre tournaments, game days, Wii Bowling, Bunco and more. Visit plfdparks.org for more info.
